The Label
We are a non-profit, non-exclusive record label releasing music digitally through the AWAL distribution network. The label takes no cut of the band’s profits and provide a quick and easy release onto hundreds of online stores including iTunes, Amazon and Spotify. We’re also non-exclusive, the artists keeps 100% of their rights and is welcome to sell their music via other means or give it away free as they see fit.
At the core of the label we are hoping to create a self-supporting artist community, where bands can call on each other for help, advice and mutual promotion.
A Brief History
Ubiquity Project Records was initially set up in 2011 by the band The Ubiquity Project in order to self-release their debut and self-titled album. A year or so afterwards and the band opted to drop the name and go with a new one, Noise Trade.
The label Ubiquity Project Records still exsisted though, and it had had some interest from bands who I produced as a simple way of releasing their music digitally. It is hoped that Ubiquity Project Records now can be a collaboration of artists releasing music under the same label, but also helping each other with gigs, promotion, artwork or whatever else! There’s a large pool of talent around and it’s good to get help!
Personnel
Okay, admittedly this section seems a bit silly with just me in it. But I hope it can grow a bit.
Graeme Rawson (www.graemerawson.co.uk)
I am a profesional sound engineer and producer based at Silver Street Studios in Reading. I am also a guitarist, singer/songwriter and synth programmer for Forget Gravity and Noise Trade.
I offer full music production services through Recording, Mixing and Mastering and can now offer select clients the opportunity to release their music on UPR at no extra cost. I would hasten to add that recording with me is not a prerequesit requirement to join the Ubiquity Project.
